Richard Zednik is a mutant

On Feb. 10, Richard Zednik of the Florida Panthers suffered a serious neck injury while playing in Buffalo. A teammate’s skate slashed Zednik across then neck, leaving a trail of blood across the ice as he rushed to the sideline for emergency medical attention.

This photo was taken on Feb. 21. Dude has a healing factor to rival Wolverine’s. Zednik says he is ready to return to the ice ASAP.

Hockey players are tough.

Federer Wins US Open

Roger Federer won his 4th US Open championship today. They say he is the greatest player of all time and he seems to be living up to it. He won $2.1 million and a car, not a bad two weeks of work.

In other sporting news Tiger Woods won the BMW Championship at Cog Hill, earning $1.26 million and taking the lead for the FedEx Cup. This brought his total career winnings to over $75 million. Fucking amazing.

I hate sports.

UPDATE: Sharapova loses 3rd round to Radwanska, she’s out!

The Deutsch Bank Championship has Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh all teeing off together for round two today.

Roger Federer and Sharapova both have US Open matches, with a possibility of Nadal and Federer facing each other again.

I have a story due and a bunch of reading to do. Damn yous!

I used to hate both sports, now that I understand them I love them. Retirement is right around the corner. Dig out the Geritol and the Preparation H, I’m cashing in the 401K and moving to Florida. Oh wait, I already live there.
