This is going to be awesome. Hopefully Chris Nolan will continue to do a few more Batman movies and not hand it off to some lesser filmmaker down the road (i.e., Joel Schumacher, Bret Ratner) to ruin.
Here are two photos of Ledger as The Joker from a hi-res trailer. He looks awesome, but I am curious how Two-Face (Aaron Eckhart) is going to look.

I know this is based on a book, which I haven’t read, but I wonder if this delves into the d’oh! factor of giving Afghanistan weapons that eventually fall into the hands of the Taliban. Looks like a good movie though. Hanks needed to redeem himself after the dreck that was The Da Vinci Code.

No End in Sight - Now don’t get me wrong on this, No End in Sight is a damn fine Iraq War documentary. However, it is more of the same if you’ve seen any of the other dozen-and-half other documentaries out there. Also if you’ve read Fiasco, State of Denial or The Greatest Story Ever Sold, again it will be more of the same.
Here’s the gist.
Bush & Co. lied, got us into a war they can’t handle under false pretenses and continue running it with no real plan and…*wait for it*…No End in Sight. Wham, bam, that’s it. I’ve watched so many Iraq War documentaries I’ve seen repeats of video and the same situations from multiple sides. The latter is actually pretty interesting though.

According to early reports, writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman are being paid $8 million to write the sequel to Michael Bay’s Transformers. The pair wrote the first movie as well as Michael Bay crapfest The Island and the J.J. Abrams directed Mission Impossible III.
How hard is that?
CITY - EXT. DAY
Buildings are blowing up, people are screaming and cars are flying through the air. We see our hero running hand-in-hand with the female lead while a slow-motion explosion chases behind them.HERO
Come on, we need to get to the end of the screen to put OBJECT A into OBJECT B or the villains win!FEMALE LEAD
You’re right hero, we need to go now! But first. We pull back as the two main characters embrace and kiss at the most inappropriate time, explosions engulfing them in chaotic beauty.
Cue music consisting of either current hip-hop star or rock-rap duo.
Where’s my $8 million damn it!

Give me back the Ben Stiller Show/Permanent Midnight/Zero Affect version of Ben Stiller, the darker and funnier one. I think you’ve got enough money man, let’s get back to the real comedy.
Oh, shit. So much for that.

Come on, give us something new. This III-IV-V sequel shit is getting ridiculous. Saw I wasn’t even that good, nor were the Hostels. Blatant gore isn’t scary, it’s Fangoria centerfolds. Give me some killer mind-fuck that will keep me awake all night, not this buckets of red corn syrup and exploding eyeballs crap.

Best musical scene ever (except for the cheesy Steve Vai faces).
Related LinksWell I guess that answers that question. I was so afraid this was going to be terrible (*ahem* Daredevil, Fantastic Four, etc.), but Favreau seems to have made it decent. Though we’ll still have to wait and see what the final product looks like.
Related LinksSomeone was working overtime at the Apple trailers department and over the last week a whole gaggle of new ones got put up. I’m a sucker for movie trailers and if there were a channel with them on, I’d watch the damn things all day. There’s a subtle art to the movie trailer that can not only make or break a film, but through clever editing can lure you into a shitty film or through bad editing turn you away from a great one.

Now this doesn’t necessarily mean that these are all going to be theater worthy, and some I even know for a fact will be NetFlix material. However these are the ones that immediately gave me the movie itch.
